AAMAKE, Inc.

Classic Journeys Africa supports AAMAKE (Artists and Athletes for Malaria Eradication Kenya) which is an non-profit organization that raises funds with the help of artists and athletes from Kenya and the United States to provide insecticide treated nets to underprivileged Kenyans exposed to Malaria mostly in remote areas.

Malaria is a life-threatening disease caused by parasites that are transmitted to people through the bites of infected female Anopheles mosquitoes. Sleeping under an insecticide-treated net can reduce contact between mosquitoes and humans by providing both a physical barrier and an insecticidal effect.

The AAMAKE initiative allows high access and usage of such nets within a community through contributions from Volunteers. The cost of providing one insecticide-treated net can be as low as USD $10 or less. These nets are distributed by schools and local leaders in their home community.

AAMAKE, Inc. ensures that the locals especially pregnant women in the exposed regions are well educated and understand the importance of using treated mosquito nets every night, we need to remember that Malaria does kill, through donation of mosquito nets a lot of lives are saved and this helps in its’ prevention. AAMAKE Inc therefore needs everyone’s support.
