7 DAYS SAMBURU AND MASAI MARA FLYING SAFARI
Day 1: NAIROBI
On arrival at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be met by our representative who will transfer you to the House Of Waine for check in and an overnight stay.
House of Waine is a family owned and run property and this is reflected in the name Waine which is made up of the initials of the family members.
Originally a family house, it was lovingly converted to a boutique hotel and eventually opened in 2004. The interior design takes its cue from the Matriarch of the family and is imbued with a timeless elegance much like her.
House of Waine is the realisation of a generations long dream that all started with our maternal Grandfather, an entrepreneur who started a “mkahawa” or coffee shop in Mwiria Village in Meru in the 1950’s.

Day 2: NAIROBI – SAMBURU NATIONAL PARK
0800hrs. After your breakfast, you will be transferred to the Wilson airport to arrive in time for your morning Airkenya flight to Samburu National Park. This flight departs at 0915hrs to arrive at the Samburu airtrip at around 1005hrs. On arrival, you will be met by a representative from the Elephant Bedroom Camp who will transfer you to the camp with a brief game drive enroute. On arrival at the camp, you will check in and settle down for lunch before spending the afternoon at leisure followed by an evening game drive till dusk when you return to your camp.
Elephant Bedroom Camp offers luxury in a setting of breath taking beauty. It is set along the banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River and shaded by doum palms and other trees that make up this green belt of riverine forest.
The surrounding Samburu National Reserve is an area of spectacular scenery; its dry plains bisected by the meandering river, with the backdrop of Africa’s dramatic mountains, including Mt Kenya.

Day 3: SAMBURU NATIONAL PARK
Wake up before sunup and have some muffins and coffee, before you take a morning game drive. You’ll see how still and quiet the Bush is at dawn and watch it begin to stir as the sun comes up. Keep a look out for Burchell’s Zebra and Gerenuk, a species that may make you think of ET. You’ll return to camp for a late brunch; then you’ll have the option to take a safari, on-foot, to a local Samburu Village, where you’ll be exposed to Samburu traditions
and nomadic culture. Head back to camp for lunch followed by a siesta, and finish up your day on an evening game drive, taking in another African sunset. A bush dinner is served on one of the nights you are here

Day 4: SAMBURU NATIONAL PARK – MASAI MARA NATIONAL GAME RESERVE
Collect your bags and transfer back to the Samburu airstrip for your flight to the Masai Mara game reserve. Upon arrival at the Masai Mara airstrip, reception and transfer to the Karen Blixen Camp. After you unpack, settle in and have lunch, you’ll set off on your first game drive, where you’ll see the Mara’s vast, rolling plains and some of the most sought-after wildlife in Africa.
The Masai Mara is arguably Kenya’s most popular game reserve. It is most famous and most visited game reserve in Kenya. The film “Out of Africa” was made to a great extend in this sanctuary. There is a profusion of all types of wildlife including the big five. A spectacle worth seeing is the annual migration of millions of wildebeests, zebras, and the gazelles from the Serengeti plains across the Tanzania border and the Mara river to reach Masai Mara grazing fields from late June. The game reserve abounds with birdlife since close to about four hundred and fifty two odd species have been recorded.

Day 5: MASAI MARA NATIONAL GAME RESERVE
The Masai Mara Game Reserve Wake up before sunup and have some muffins and coffee, before you take a morning game drive. Day 6: MASAI MARA NATIONAL GAME RESERVE
The Masai Mara Game Reserve Early morning transfer to the balloon safari site, a highly-recommended optional excursion. You’ll have the chance to see lions, elephants, buffaloes, hippos, crocodiles, countless species of birds and vast, African plains from above. Afterward you’ll have breakfast and champagne in the middle of the Mara. You’ll then take a game drive back to the camp, where you’ll have lunch. Take it easy in the afternoon and then head out on a night game drive around your conservancy and take in some nocturnal wildlife. Return to camp for sundowners, dinner and drinks around a campfire that looks out on the Mara.

Day 7: DEPART
0630hrs. Wake up at sunrise for your last game drive; who knows, you may even see some wildlife that you hadn’t seen before. Return to collect your bags and transfer to the Mara North airstrip for your Air Kenya flight back to Nairobi’s Wilson airport. This flight departs at 1115hrs to arrive at approx. 1215hrs. On arrival, you will be met by our representative who will transfer you to the renowned Carnivore restaurant for a farewell lunch.
The Carnivore is the ultimate ‘Beast of a Feast’ A variety of meat including ostrich, crocodile and camel, t is roasted over charcoal and carved at your table. Delicious side dishes and an exceptional array of sauces complement this fixed price feast that also includes soup, a selection of desserts and Kenyan coffee. Set in attractive tropical gardens, the service and the décor are outstanding. The Carnivore since its inception has played host to over 2 million customers from across the globe including numerous celebrities. In fact the Carnivore visitors’ book read like a global who is who! Whole joints of meat – legs of lamb and pork, ostrich, rumps of beef, sirloins, racks of lamb, spare ribs, sausages, chicken wings, skewered kidneys, even crocodile, and other tasty morsels – are roasted on traditional Masai swords over a huge, spectacular charcoal pit that dominates the entrance of the restaurant.
After your lunch, you will be transferred to the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in time for your evening flight back home.
